Sudbury Wolves forward Dalibor Dvorsky picked up two goals in Thursdays's 7-2 win over the Niagara IceDogs.

The Sudbury Wolves were in St. Catharines for a Thursday night rematch against the Niagara IceDogs, after the Wolves defeated that same Niagara team in Sudbury just six nights prior.

Marcus Vandenberg was the starting goaltender for Niagara while Sudbury went with Jakub Vondras between the pipes.

Despite their best efforts, Sudbury could not solve Vandenberg in the first period, and after 20 minutes of play the teams remained deadlocked at 0-0.

At 2:18 of the second period, Sudbury native Alex Pharand scored his second goal of the season to break the scoreless tie and give the Wolves a 1-0 lead on the road.

Just over two minutes later, at the 4:29 mark of the middle frame, Ivan Galiyanov scored his first goal of the season for Niagara to tie the game 1-1.

Less than a minute later Sudbury Wolves rookie and St. Louis Blues prospect, Dalibor Dvorsky, scored his fourth of the season to give Sudbury a 2-1 lead.

There wasn’t any more scoring until the 14:57 mark of the second period when André Anania scored his first goal of the season to increase the Wolves’ lead to 3-1, which is where the teams stood with one period remaining.

The Wolves opened the game in the third period, starting with Dvorsky’s second goal of the game (and fifth of the season), to give Sudbury a 4-1 lead just under four minutes into the period.

A mere 27 seconds later, Kocha Delic scored his fifth of the season to give Sudbury a 5-1 lead.

The play was quiet until 15:56 of the period when Delic lit the lamp once again for the Wolves, scoring his sixth of the season to make the score 6-1 for the Pack.

Niagara finally scored again just under two minutes later when Zakary Lavoie scored his seventh goal of the season to make the score 6-2 for Sudbury.

Nolan Collins wrapped up the scoring on the night with his first of the season for the Wolves at the 18:36 mark of the third period to secure a huge road victory for the Sudbury Wolves by a score of 7-2.

With the win, the Sudbury Wolves improve their record to 10 wins and five losses on the season.

The Wolves cross the border into Erie, Pennsylvania, on Nov. 10 to face off against Head Coach Stan Butler’s Erie Otters, with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m.
