The Sudbury Wolves played their third game in two and half days against the Brampton Battalion on Sunday afternoon, on Brampton's home ice.

The Wolves played a solid game but were unable to get the win, losing the contest by a final score of 3 to 1.

The Wolves were coming off two losses after being defeated by the Saginaw Spirit 3-2 in a shootout Friday night, and a 5-4 loss against the Niagara Ice Dogs Saturday evening.

The Wolves were still without the services of Gerome Giudice, Daniel Maggio, Sergei Sheleg and John McFarland due to injuries, as they headed into Brampton Sunday afternoon to play the number one team in the OHL.

The first period the Battalion was able to take an early 3 - 0 lead on 12 shots with power play goals by Evgeny Grachev and Scott Tanski and an even strength goal by Josh Shalla.

The Wolves tightened up their defensive play, keeping the Battalion off the score sheet for the remainder of the game.

Despite a shaky start, Sudbury Wolves netminder Alain Valiquette was solid in goal and kept the Wolves within reach of a win, making 41 saves in the loss.

The Wolves did get on the board in the second period with a goal by John Kurtz with assists from Matt Dias and Marcus Foligno.

That is as close as the pack would get, as Battalion netminder Patrick Killeen made 25 saves for the win on this day.

The Wolves will head to Barrie Thursday night for a matchup against the Colts, before hosting two home games this weekend against the Kitchener Rangers and the Guelph Storm.
