The Wolves won on Friday as well, nipping the Brampton Battalion 3-2.

With the two crucial Central Division wins, the Wolves have managed to bring their record back to the .500 mark, and in the process have kept pace with the Barrie Colts for fourth place in the division.

The Wolves' record now stands at 14-14-3-2.

On Sunday, it was dynamic duo of Rafal Martynowski and Ben Pouliot again leading the way.

Martynowski scored the first, and winning goal, in the first period.

Pouliot added the insurance marker in the third period.

Martynowski has poured it on in the month of December. So far, he has scored four goals and nine points in his last six games.

Patrick Ehelechner, although not tested, made some fine saves to ensure his second shutout of the season. He stopped all 23 shots his faced Sunday.

On Friday, the Wolves slipped by the Battalion 3-2.

Once again, Martynowski and Pouliot carried the offensive torch for the Wolves.

Brampton held a 2-1 lead going into the third period, but the Wolves fought their way back into the game thanks to the heroics of Martynowski and Pouliot.

Martynowski tied the game 2-2 at 10:40 of the third period. Then, just 18 seconds later, Martynowski set up a streaking Pouliot, who ripped the puck into the net for the big 3-2 win.

With the two wins, the Wolves have now forged an impressive four-game home-winning streak.

The Sudbury Arena is going to be quiet for the next two weekends, as the Wolves hit the road this week for a three-game trip against Windsor, London and Brampton on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. They kick off the road trip Thursday evening in Windsor.

The following weekend is the Christmas break.

The Wolves next home game is Wednesday, Dec. 29, against the Kitchener Rangers.
