By Keith Lacey If youÂ?re one of the small percentage of golfers who can rip it long and straight, you might be very interested in signing up to compete in the Canadian Long Drive Championships regional event this weekend.

The Inco Walden Firecracker five-kilometre road race will take place on Canada Day, Monday, July 1. The race is open to all competitors.

Seven Sudbury students are among the 900 Canadians who will receive Millennium Excellence Awards for academic successes. The scholarships also recognize the students? leadership skills and contributions to their communities.
