A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Saturday and Saturday night, said Environment Canada.
Locally heavy flurries are forecast to begin early Saturday morning over the area. They will continue into Saturday evening before tapering off Saturday night.
Total snowfall accumulations near 10 cm can be expected by the time the flurries come to an end.
Snowfall rates of two to three cm per hour will be possible, significantly reducing visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Accumulating snow on untreated roadways will impact travel, and motorists are advised to exercise caution.
“Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly,” said Environment Canada in its release.
