Students at St. James Catholic Elementary school witnessed the hatching of baby ducks this month.
The family of Grade 5 student Danielle Battistelli (second from left) offered the school eggs, an incubator and all the supplies and equipment needed in order to hatch some duck eggs.
Within a few weeks time, the first batch of eggs hatched. Grade One teacher Sarah Pappin said it “was a fantastic opportunity for all the students at St. James to work with community partners, and families and have a hands on experience with new life.”
