"Saskatchewan actor, Kelly Taylor, was a real find," said its writer, producer and director Tim McKort. "He is a true Canadian talent, and he can skate. His comic sensibilities were a perfect fit for the character of Sure Shot."

Through a series of flashbacks, his life is told as a group of fans bus their way to the town of Mundare, Alberta to attend his memorial.

Its roster also includes comic Rick Bronson as Reg Locker, the sports writer who MC's the life of Sure Shot; on-air personality Tracie Gray as Sure Shot's wife, Joanne Avery; as well as former professional hockey player Shane Bogden as Sure Shot's best friend Moose Forget.

The film was filmed in late 2006 at various arenas and locations in Edmonton, Leduc, and Mundare, Alberta, while the world premiere took place a the 2007 Edmonton International Film Festival.
