About 460 guests supported the Sudbury Food Bank at the Legend-Aid Northern Artist for the Hungry CD launch party. They were treated to dinner and a live musical show at the Caruso Club on June 15.

The CD compilation created to raise money for the food bank, features music from 11 local artists who perform various genres of music. Several of the artists featured on the CD also performed at the launch party.

Zack Werner, president of Venus Records and Canadian Idol judge, hosted the show.

According to a press release from the Sudbury Food Bank, 14,500 people take advantage of the services offered by the Sudbury Food Bank and its 45 member agencies monthly.

This is the first time the Sudbury Food Bank has taken on a project like this. Dan Xilon, administrator at the food bank, said he is pleased with the results though.

The 11-track CD compilation can be purchased for $15 by phoning the Sudbury Food Bank at 671-9663, while supplies last.

Artists performing on the compilation include Terra Cain, The Evolutionary Band, Miner Wylie & Andrew Lowe, Jeff Wiseman, Dan Mac Donald, Bluez Brotherz Showband and Review, Cities Collapse, Vicious Cycle, The Birthday Cakes, Shaft Bottom Boys and Ron Whitman.
