Organizers want to remind people to drive sober during the holiday season. Action Sudbury distributes Red Ribbons to residents, businesses and organizations during the Christmas season. Action Sudbury donated breath testers to the Greater Sudbury Police Services and the O.P.P.

Three of the testers are decorated with photos of teenagers Caitlin Jelley, Steven Philippe and Jazmine Houle, who were killed June 21 in Hanmer. These machines, worth $1,700 a piece, are used to determine whether an individual has had any alcohol in his or her system. If it tests positive, further testing is then arranged at the police station. Drinking and driving has claimed more than 2,000 lives during the past decade.
