This weekend is your last chance to see the joint YES Theatre/Sudbury Theatre Centre Students on Stage production of The Magic Pebble.
Directed by long-time YES/STC company member April Perrin with vocal direction by Katie Behun, the production is staged tonight, May 26, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 27 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
"It is an absolute dream to see our youth programs thriving,” said Ruthie Nkut, the associate artistic director of YES/STC. “We already have record-breaking numbers of enrolment for our upcoming year and even more exciting initiatives coming soon. The callbacks for ‘Matilda’ were so inspiring for the whole team.
“Seeing a diverse group of young people who are talented, thoughtful and from Sudbury makes us all hopeful that the artistic landscape in Sudbury will only continue to grow. If you are looking for a way to support our youth, come see them take the stage in Magic Pebble!"
The Magic Pebble tells the story of Denise, Becky, Jonesy and Hattie, four bored kids who are trying find something to do when they stumble across a magic pebble that grants their wishes for adventure.
“The gang must face the meanest pirates, a very vicious T-Rex and the scariest of all, Old Lady Figaro, on a wild journey through time. With new scenes written by the Students on Stage cast themselves, this show is packed full with music, laughs and crazy adventures.”
Adult ($25 +tax) and Youth ($15 +tax) tickets are available on SudburyTheatre.com.
