Service has been restored to the “vast majority” of Eastlink customers after “sporadic” service interruptions in northern Ontario, starting in the morning of Jan. 23.
Jill Laing, a spokesperson for the Internet, cable television and telephone provider, said the service interruption was caused by an issue related to fibre optic cables, and exacerbated by the extreme cold weather.
“Because of the sporadic nature of (the service interruptions), it did take a bit of time to isolate areas which needed repair,” she said.
