The grassroots committee that has been critical of the Sudbury Soils Study has launched a website - www.sudburysoils.com.
“We provide you with news and views on the Sudbury Soils Study and mining-related contamination in the Sudbury basin,” states a release.
The group, comprised of unionists, social, health and environmental activists and concerned citizens came together in the summer as a result of dissatisfaction with the work and processes of the multi-year study concerning the human and ecological risks of mining activities in the Sudbury area.
On Nov. 30, the group hosted Dr. Kapil Khatter, a family physician and human health risk expert at the council chambers of Tom Davies Square. Khatter had earlier prepared a report for the group critical of the results of the Human Health Risk Assessment compiled by the SARA group of consultants for the Sudbury Soils Study.
