A structure fire occurred on Guenette Drive in Hanmer Friday, displacing two homeowners and two children from the single-family dwelling.
The City of Greater Sudbury Fire Services received the call at 5:34 p.m. that evening and responded with 25 firefighters from four different fire stations and seven apparatuses.
According to a press release issued Saturday, the fire was caused by a cooking pot that had been left unattended on the stove.
The incident resulted in severe fire and smoke damage to the one-storey building, estimated at $200,000.
