Etobicoke company wins Hwy. 69 contract

The province has awarded the final contract, worth $43.4 million, to finish the four-laning of Hwy. 69 from Sudbury through to Estaire. The contract was awarded to Carillion Canada Inc.

The province has awarded the final contract, worth $43.4 million, to finish the four-laning of Hwy. 69 from Sudbury through to Estaire.

The contract was awarded to Carillion Canada Inc., a company based in Etobicoke, who will construct more than four kilometres of four lane highway north of Estaire to Hwy. 537. Work includes seven new bridges, two overhead railroad structures and an underpass at old Hwy. 537.

Construction is expected to begin in the winter of 2007 and should be completed in December 2008.
