Is Health Sciences North clean enough?

CUPE will be hosting a media conference Tuesday afternoon to speak about the findings from the study "Hospital-Acquired Infections: Stop Preventable Deaths". Hospital cleaner Nicholas Black will be speaking at the conference and he says that, "over-crowded hospitals and insufficient staff hampers efforts to keep up with the cleaning and sterilizing of patient rooms and common areas." Council to make decision on 2021 Canada Games:

Greater Sudbury city council will decide tonight weather to continue with its bid to host the 2021 Canada Summer Games. Councillors will vote whether to commit $3 million and accept responsibility for any deficits that may result from hosting the Games. The total cost of hosting the event is estimated at $45 million.

Mayor to proclaim January as Alzheimer's Awareness Month:

Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger will be joined by Alzheimer Society staff, clients, and care partners Tuesdya morning to proclaim January as National Alzheimer's Awareness Month. Bigger will make the proclamation from the Mayor's Boardroom at Tom Davies Square at 10 a.m. Be sure to check back with Sudbury.com for more on this story.

ICYMI: Smoke's Poutinerie slated to open on Friday:

There was a bit of a mix-up between Smoke's Poutinerie's head office and their new location on Elm Street in Sudbury, with initial reports indicating that the Rainbow Centre location would be open on Wednesday. The air has been cleared however, and owner Gibs Bastien says that the new location should be open on Friday, Jan. 13. For more on this story, click here.
