The Advanced Medical Research Institute of Canada (AMRIC) is inviting the public to attend an informal coffee-house-style discussion about the importance of vaccination in people over the age of 65.

The discussion, being dubbed a Café Scientifique, will take place starting at 6 p.m. on May 7 at the Parkside Centre, located in the YMCA building on Durham Street in downtown Sudbury.

The theme for the evening is exploring how vaccines can enhance the health and vitality of senior citizens.

AMRIC is the research arm of Health Sciences North.

Guest speakers include Dr. Janet McElhaney, senior researcher at AMRIC and HSN Volunteer Association Chair in Geriatric Research, and Dr. Francisco Diaz-Mitoma, CEO and scientific director at AMRIC and vice-president of research at HSN, as well as a representative from the Sudbury and District Health Unit.

AMRIC asks people to arrive early, as seating is limited.
