Drivers and boaters can expect a heavy police presence on roads and waterways, as they aim to keep everyone safe.

On Monday, Tom Davies Square, citizen service centres and libraries, landfills and recycling facilities and city-run gyms and pools will be closed. Transit buses will operate on a Sunday schedule. For more information on municipal services, phone 311 or visit greatersudbury.ca.

While the city is closed, there is still plenty of fun to be had over the three-day weekend.

What we suggest:

Grab a tent, sleeping bag and wood for the campfire. Don't forget a fishing rod.

The Northern Ontario Railroad Museuem and Heritage Centre opens on May 19 at 10 a.m. — take a drive, then take in some history. Visit normhc.ca for more information.

The Weather Network is projecting sunshine and warm temperatures all weekend. Rain and thunder storms may roll through on May 21; Enjoy the show from the comfort of an umbrella.
