Hospital reaches out to cancer survivors

The Regional Cancer Program at Sudbury Regional Hospital is offering a series of six sessions in March and April for cancer survivors who are within two years of finishing cancer treatments.
The Regional Cancer Program at Sudbury Regional Hospital is offering a series of six sessions in March and April for cancer survivors who are within two years of finishing cancer treatments.

The sessions, which will be held in the conference room across from the main lobby Tim Hortons at the hospital from 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, are designed to help cancer survivors make the transition from active treatment to post-treatment life.

The course covers the following topics:

-March 1 - Get back to wellness: take control of your survivorship
-March 8 - Exercise for wellness: customized exercise
-March 15 - Emotional health and well being: from patient to survivor
-March 22 - Nutrition beyond cancer
-March 20 - Medical management beyond cancer
-April 5 - Life beyond cancer
