If your name is Karen Beaulieu, and you live in Greater Sudbury, you may be the owner of a new home on Arnold Street.
The Sudbury branch of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association held its annual Ultimate Dream Home Draw this afternoon at the home.
Hopeful winners packed the main floor of the home, looking on eagerly as the drum, filled with more than 71,000 tickets, was turned.
Scott Edwards from KicX 91.7 pulled the first ticket. It belonged to Karen Beaulieu of Sudbury.
In fact, all 12 winners were from Greater Sudbury, a first since the dream draw began, said Gwen MacGillivray, event co-ordinator with the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association.
“It's growing in popularity,” she said. “We are pleased with the response, and as long as it keeps going up, we're happy.”
Without the money raised through the Ultimate Dream Home Draw, the Sudbury branch would not be able to provide its services, such as the Hear Now Fun, which provides funding for people who can't afford hearing aids, or for speech reading and education programs.
Staff and volunteer travel throughout Northern Ontario to provide those services, MacGillivray said.
Now that this year's draw has come to a close, work begins for next year's draw, she said.
Rounding out the other winners of the Ultimate Dream Home Draw is:

- Fourth – Rosano Ganzini of Lively, $1,000 gift card for Home Hardware
- Fifth – Kathy MacLean from Lively, $1,000 gift card for Real Canadian Superstore
- Sixth – Jeff Peacock from Sudbury, $1,000 gift card for Real Canadian Superstore
- Seventh – Jesse Dordevic from Val Therese, $500 gift card for Home Hardware
- Eighth – Peter Falac from Garson, $500 gift card for Home Hardware
- Ninth – Kelly Marcon from Sudbury, $500 gift card for Giant Tiger
