Lively District Secondary School students were evacuated to nearby Walden Public School this morning (Jan. 15) when a sensor in the school's fire system was triggered.
A spokesperson for Rainbow District School Board clarifies there was no fire at the high school.
The sensor was triggered at around 10:30 a.m. and students returned to class just after 11 a.m. when the fire department confirmed that it was safe to do so.
“Safety, as always, is our first and foremost concern,” said the Rainbow board. “The school will be sending a letter to parents/guardians.”
