Ministry of Education staff will be hosting a public engagement session on child care at the Steelworkers Union Hall & Conference Centre on Monday, Jan. 30.

The discussion will focus on how to build a high quality child care and early years system that is more accessible, affordable and flexible.

"We want to hear from expectant parents, as well as parents and guardians with children under 12 years of age with ideas that will help us meet this goal," said a news release from the Ministry of Education.

"Over the next five years, our government is investing to create another 100,000 child care spaces in Ontario. We are engaging with families and our partners across the province on this important work in addition to a broader plan to help working families find quality, affordable care."

The session starts at 7 p.m. and will run until 9 p.m. at the Steelworkers Hall (66 Brady St.)

Light refreshments will be served and child minding will be available onsite. No registration is required.
