The former international president of Doctors Without Borders will present a lecture at Laurentian University's Fraser Auditorium Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. James Orbinski “has spent a working lifetime in the service of humanitarian efforts, particularly in promoting treatment of HIV/AIDS in poor countries,” according to information in an ad about his lecture.

His lecture, part of the Dr. Dan Andreae Distinguished Presidential Lecture Series on Living in Healthy Communities, will focus on ethics and global health, tackling issues such as the ethical response to disease, war and starvation and obligations to developing nations.

Tickets to the event are free, although seating is limited.

Tickets are available at the Laurentian University Bookstore, the J.N. Desmarais Library, the registrar's offices at Cambrian College and Collège Boréal, Old Rock Roastery, and the Sudbury Public Library branches on Mackenzie Street, Lasalle Boulevard and Regent Street South, as well as by visiting http://lul.ca.eticket.

There is free parking in lot No. 1.
