Pride Week kicks off tonight with the Pride Paddle

Stop by the ice cream social and take in the ‘celebratory paddle’

Fierté Sudbury Pride week kicked off this morning with the raising of the rainbow Pride flag by Mayor Brian Bigger at the James Jerome Sports Complex.

But that is far from the only Pride event on tap for today.

This evening you can join Sudbury MP Paul Lefebvre and Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault at the Northern Water Sports Centre, 206 Ramsey Lake Road, for what’s being billed as a “celebratory” Pride Paddle.

The public is welcome to join politicians, as well as members of Fierté Sudbury Pride, Laurentian University and Northern Water Sports Centre for a rainbow-themed ice cream social and the Pride Paddle itself from 6-7:30 p.m. tonight.

At 7:30 p.m., visit One Sky on Durham Street where author, activist and mentor Sarah Lashbrook will have a book reading and meet and greet.

From 8-9 p.m., enjoy a Two Souls Yoga Pride Practice at 469 Bouchard Street with all proceeds supporting the Rainbow Camp.

Sudbury.com has the complete schedule for Fierté Sudbury Pride Week up on the website. You can also visit SudburyPride.com for more info.
