OPP bomb squad removes mysterious toolbox at Tom Davies:

Tom Davies Square and 199 Larch Street will re-open for business as usual today, after both buildings were evacuated on Wednesday when a mysterious toolbox was found under a bench. Police confirmed that the toolbox was empty and there is no further concern for public or employee safety. 

Hope in the City Luncheon today at noon:

The Salvation Army will be hosting its annual “Hope in the City” Luncheon on Nov. 3 at the United Steelworkers Hall at noon. The event is designed as an opportunity to network with like-minded community and business leaders, raising awareness of local Salvation Army programs and providing information regarding opportunities for service and support within the community of Greater Sudbury in the upcoming Christmas season. 

Standing Rock solidarity display this evening:

A group of Sudburians will be holding a display of peace and friendship to show support and solidarity for the land defenders and water protectors at Standing Rock who are facing increasing violence and repression at the hands of the colonial authorities. Read more on this story here.

Dozens of CUPE members gathered in front of Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault's office on Nov. 2 to protest Health Sciences North's decision to move change their laundry service provider to a Hamilton-based company next April. Check out the photos from yesterday's protest here.

Marymount Regals capture sixth straight SDSSAA flag football title:

The Marymount Regals won a war of attrition against the Confederation Chargers in the SDSSAA flag football finals to capture their sixth straight title.
