Have you ever posted a new Facebook status and been disappointed when nobody "Likes" it? That could be because your status updates don't reach as many of your friends as you think they do.

With the ever-growing popularity of social media, people are subscribing or "Like(ing)" more pages and adding more friends on Facebook.

Posts from these friends and fan pages are what aggregate your news feed, which constantly rotates. So unless you are always watching your feed, some posts will go unnoticed.

Facebook now offers "Interest Lists", an optional way to organize the content you're most interested in on Facebook.

You can create your own interest lists based on the things you care about. For example, to make sure you stay up-to-date on what's happening in Greater Sudbury you can create a "Sudbury News" list that includes NorthernLife.ca.

Here's how:

-Place your mouse over the “Like(d)” button located near Northern Life's banner name;
-A drop-down menu will appear; select “Add to Interest Lists”. If you aren’t already using Interest Lists, you can easily set one up;
-Make sure to select NorthernLife.ca's page and any others you care about, and follow Facebook’s instructions to create your list.

Doing this will make sure you continue to receive the latest news in Greater Sudbury.
