Summer school open for registrations

Rainbow District School Board is currently accepting registrations for summer school. To enroll in summer school, students must be repeating a credit and must have achieved a minimum mark of 35 per cent.

To enroll in summer school, students must be repeating a credit and must have achieved a minimum mark of 35 per cent. There will be no new credits through Summer School.

Grade 9 to 12 courses will be offered July 3-30. Classes in the first five days begin at 8 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m. with the second class running from 10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Class times change on July 10 to the end of summer school and run from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Courses offered in summer school include English, math, science, French, history and geography.

Secondary summer school will take place at Lockerby Composite School, 1391 Ramsey View Crt. in Sudbury and is open to all students from both public and separate schools.

Students can register by contacting their current school by June 29. The last day to register for Summer School is July 3 in person at Lockerby Composite School.

Board transportation is not available for summer school. Transportation must be provided by students or their parents/guardians.

Courses will be offered providing there is sufficient enrolment.

In addition to the secondary courses, a literacy and numeracy remediation course will be offered for Grade 7 and 8 students enrolled in Rainbow schools only from July 3-24 from 9 a.m. to noon.
