The Inner-City Home of Sudbury promises an evening of fun and entertainment for its Stay Away Soiree on May 17. The virtual event gives you the chance to raise money for an organization that cared for 2,519 Sudbury children and 1,100 Sudbury households in 2020.

Your donations will also be matched by a family with a strong Sudbury connection that continues to remember their hometown. Perry and Sue Dellelce have donated $10,000 to the Inner-City Home of Sudbury and they will be challenging the community with an additional $500 for every $1,000 contributed (to a predetermined maximum).

Inner-City Home of Sudbury president Joe Drago says not only is this an amazing contribution by the Dellelce family and a great opportunity for the community, but he knows that every cent will go directly to those who need it.

“The great majority of the money we bring in keeps the house going and with feeding people and the expenses for a home,” said Drago. “I am very happy to say that here, it's all about the cause.”

The Inner-City Home of Sudbury hopes to raise $60,000 as part of this event, something that will help the organization continue to meet the increasing needs they are facing.

In addition to the meals offered to the families of the Inner-City Home of Sudbury, training and courses are also available. Referred to the organization by health care professionals or first responders, those who wish to can take courses in anger management, stress management and building self-esteem.

“And there is no charge for these services,” said Drago. “There is no charge for anything we do for these families.”

It is for these reasons that the Inner-City Home of Sudbury could use your support.

Individual Tickets are $100, $200 for three tickets or $500 for a table (eight tickets). Tax receipts for the full amount will be issues and then tickets will be entered into a draw for the following prizes:

  • A signed and authenticated Connor McDavid Jersey
  • Two chances to win $1000 cash prizes
  • Dinner for four in your home, with wine and dessert catered by Chef Mika Koskela and served by our board members,
  • Two chances to win $250.00 gas cards
  • A $250 voucher for a restaurant of your choice.

Drago also mentions the support of Doyle Dodge Chrysler who is donating $10,000 to the Inner-City Home of Sudbury.

“It is their 100th anniversary and to celebrate they have committed to giving $100,000 to the community,” said Drago. “We were selected as one of the charities, and they are our lead sponsor for the virtual evening.”

When you buy a ticket, Drago said, you are supporting more than 2,500 children per year. Then, you can enjoy the Stay Away Soiree, happening May 17 at 7 p.m. and broadcasting live from the Alibi Room in downtown Sudbury, by visiting the Inner-City Home of Sudbury on their Facebook page @innercityhome.
