The deadline is drawing near for anyone who wants to comment on the city's draft Transportation Master Plan.

The public has until Aug. 28 at 4:30 p.m. to provide input on what will be the main document guiding the way Greater Sudbury's transportation network is developed for the next 10 years.

A copy of the draft plan and a form to submit comments electronically can be found at GreaterSudbury.ca/transportation.

To submit comments on paper, residents can pick up a form at any citizen service centre and library.

After the public input period has passed, comments will be compiled and and staff will prepare responses. Then the
document will go to city council for debate sometime in September or October.

Then a revised plan reflecting public and council feedback will be presented to council for approval by end of year.

The fact that the plan has been completed will then be advertised for 30 days, before it officially becomes part of the Official Plan.

Anyone interested can view the public information and input session that was held June 24. It can be accessed at the city's Livestream site here.

Once complete, the transportation plan will guide the improvement of the existing road network, enhancement and expansion of active transportation facilities; and the incorporation and development of additional transportation policies.
