The City of Greater Sudbury issued the following notice this afternoon: Nickel District Pool will be closed May 28 at 6:30 p.m. until 8 a.m. on May 29 to accommodate construction work on the school's hot water loop that the pool is tied into.

Greater Sudbury's planning committee approved a rezoning application Monday allowing the construction of two, one-storey apartment buildings on Harrison Drive in the city's South End.

The board will meet 10–12 times per year at the new NWSC building at 206 Ramsey Lake Rd.

A Cultural Action Plan was drafted to accompany the Cultural Plan and lays out specific actions within the four strategic directions of Creative Identity, Creative People, Creative Places and Creative Economy.

Paving in the intersection of Regent Street and Algonquin Road will take place Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29 from 5:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. both days. Paving will begin in the southbound lanes first.

The Scrap Cancer campaign resumes this weekend, inviting people to donate scrap metal and electronics Saturday to help raise funds for the Northern Cancer Foundation. Ramakko’s Source for Adventure, located at 2345 Regent St.
