LANARK, Ont. — An eastern Ontario health unit is reminding residents not to share their COVID-19 vaccine booking codes after non-eligible individuals tried to secure a shot.
The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit says some people who do not yet qualify for a vaccine are trying to use tcodes to book appointments.
It says that is disruptive, strains resources and takes appointment slots away from those who need them most.
Eligible area residents can schedule vaccinations through the provincial booking system but can also contact the health unit directly for booking codes.
Jenny Vandermeer, the unit's operations manager, says non-eligible residents who booked appointments using other people's codes will be turned away when their identity is verified at vaccination clinics.
