Beland may have assaulted home occupants: police

There is evidence that a man who died at a Hanmer residence Feb. 7 was in the residence unlawfully, and that he assaulted one of the occupants of the house with pepper spray, say Greater Sudbury Police.

click here for Northern Life video The police have classified the death of Bryan Beland as suspicious. Acting on a criminal code search warrant, the forensics unit continues to collect evidence. The scene of the man's death is still contained.

Investigators are in the process of determining why Beland was in the home.
