Earlier Friday evening officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person wandering in and out of the bush area off of Red Deer Lake Road North.  On arrival they found an intoxicated 26-year-old female who was not a resident of the area.  Due to her uncooperative demeanor and her intoxicated state the officers arrested her for being intoxicated in a public place for her own safety.

She instantly turned on the officers and fought being handcuffed, threatening to kill one of the arresting officers.  She was placed in the cruiser and during transport began spitting at the officers then kicked out one of the rear door windows.   The officers attempted to employ additional restraints during which she kicked one of them in the chest.

At headquarters she was searched and was found to be in possession of a quantity of restricted pills and was on a valid probation order for a previous charge of mischief.

This investigation concluded with her being charged with being intoxicated in a public place, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of mischief , threatening death, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and breaching her probation.  She will be held for a bail hearing.
