For the second consecutive weekend, Greater Sudbury Police are pleased to report there wasnÂ?t a single impaired driving charge laid following another holiday Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spotcheck blitz.

Almost 700 vehicles were checked by officers at various RIDE spotchecks and, police are happy to report, there wasnÂ?t a single impaired driving charge laid.

A total of six people were issued 12-hour suspensions and 13 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid by police as a result of the RIDE spotchecks.

The traffic management unit as well as uniform patrol officers will continue to target impaired driving within the City of Greater Sudbury over the holiday season and throughout the year.

Police warn they will continue their zero tolerance policy and wonÂ?t be handing out any breaks to people who insist on drinking too much and still getting behind the wheel.
