Human remains found in Thornloe

UPDATE: CNW - During the early evening on June 2, 2008 a human skull was located along Highway 562 in the village of Thornloe.

Specialists from the Chief Coroner's Office in Toronto have confirmed the skull was of a male between the age of 25 to 50 years. Forensic examination indicates the male subject had a missing upper tooth, had brown hair and is believed to have been a smoker.

Investigators have yet to determine the identity or the cause of death of this individual and are appealing for public assistance to locate other remains or other information that will assist in determining the circumstances of this discovery.

The Temiskaming OPP Crime Unit is investigating the discovery of human remains found along Highway 562 in the village of Thornloe.

The remains were found in the early evening on June 2 and have been identified as being a male between the ages of 25 and 50.

The remains have been transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner in Toronto for forensic examination. Identification and cause of death have not been determined.

Officers from the Temiskaming OPP detachment are continuing the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Ken Leppert of the Criminal Investigation Branch.
