UPDATE- Highway 17 was re-opened to traffic in both directions as of 12 p.m. Feb. 27. Check back to NorthernLife.ca for details of the accident as they become available.
UPDATE - Highway 17 is still closed at the Garson/Coniston Road as of 10:15 a.m. The collision was between a transport truck and a passenger vehicle. 
Highway 17 is closed at the Garson/Coniston Road because of a collision involving two vehicles. The collision occurred at 6:15 a.m. There are reports of injuries. The Ontario Provincial Police say that it will be a couple of hours before the highway is re-opened.
Highway 144 between Dowling and the Watershed (Gogama) was also closed at 3:45 a.m. this morning due to poor weather conditions and zero visibility, but has since re-opened.
