A 47-year-old man was arrested for assault with a weapon by the Toronto Police Service Feb. 27 in relation to an arrest warrant by Greater Sudbury Police dating back to 1992.

On Sept. 6, 1992, two rival motorcycle gangs became involved in a disturbance at a hotel on The Kingsway. During the course of the disturbance, several people were injured.

Two people suffered knife wounds, several were struck by a two by four and a tire iron, and one man suffered a gunshot wound. All of the victims have since recovered from their injuries.

The man arrested in Toronto is alleged to have struck a then 38-year-old man with a two-by-four during the disturbance. Greater Sudbury Police have returned the suspect to Sudbury. He was due to attend a video bail hearing March 1 at police headquarters.
