Man caught urinating on monument facing charges

A 21-year-old man from Winnipeg faces numerous charges after Greater Sudbury Police say officers caught him urinating on a Navy League of Canada monument inside Memorial Park in downtown Sudbury Wednesday morning around 12:30 am.



A 21-year-old man from Winnipeg faces numerous charges after Greater Sudbury Police say officers caught him urinating on a Navy League of Canada monument inside Memorial Park in downtown Sudbury Wednesday morning around 12:30 am.


Police approached the man and he fled on foot. Police say he was located a short distance away and he was captured with assistance of members of the public.


The accused has been charged with one count each of mischief, possession of a prohibited weapon, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon and possession a dangerous weapon.


The accused was held overnight and will remain in custody pending a bail hearing, say police.
