Man dies of stab wounds after altercation on Lasalle

Eighteen-year-old Joseph Mills and a 16-year-old youth are facing murder charges in the stabbing death of 32-year-old Corey Lalonde of Greater Sudbury.

Lalonde became Sudbury's fourth homicide victim of 2009 when he was stabbed to death during an altercation at 1950 Lasalle Boulevard around 1 a.m. on Nov. 29.

Two men were taken to the hospital with stab wounds and later released, according to an initial police release, and Mills and the 16-year-old suspect are facing charges of attempted murder in regards to these injuries. A third man has been charged with assault, but his name has not yet been released.

Both Mills and the 16-year-old suspect are from Greater Sudbury.

Greater Sudbury Police have not released details about the incident as the investigation is ongoing, and is currently withholding the names of other involved parties while the investigation continues.
