Manitoulin man charged with first degree murder

A 21-year-old Manitoulin man has been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of his common law wife, whose body was discovered early Sunday morning.

A 21-year-old Manitoulin man has been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of his common law wife, whose body was discovered early Sunday morning.

The deceased, 25, was found dead at a Zhiibaahaasing First Nation residence on Manitoulin Island. A post-mortem examination has confirmed a gunshot wound as the cause of death.

The accused will appear in court in Gore Bay Dec. 5.
