Just before 5 a.m. on May 4, Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police responded to a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver.

“As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested,” OPP said. “A search of the vehicle located an air pistol, drug paraphernalia and drugs suspected to be cannabis, fentanyl and methamphetamine.”

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both from West Nipissing, were charged with:

  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose

The 24-year-old was further charged with driving a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 6 in North Bay.
