Pedestrian charged following downtown collision Saturday

Greater Sudbury Police said Sunday the pedestrian has been charged in connection with the accident.


"As a result of the investigation, the pedestrian was charged with Pedestrian Disobey Don’t Walk Signal, with a total fine of $50," the release said.

A pedestrian received non-life threatening injuries in a collision Saturday afternoon on Notre Dame Avenue and Ste. Anne Road near the Rainbow Centre.

Police say they received the call at 2:50 p.m. In a news release, police said the victim was a pedestrian. The investigation was ongoing and the sequence of events was still unclear. 

 

As of 4 p.m., all lanes on Notre Dame were open. Southbound lanes had been closed while police and emergency medical personnel were on the scene.

“Traffic slow in area but flowing,” Sudbury police tweeted.
