A women was walking her two grandchildren on Falconbridge Rd. in Garson on Wednesday when they were struck by a runaway trailer.
One of the grandchildren, a three-year-old girl, suffered serious injuries requiring treatment at the Hospital for Sick Children. The grandmother and a one-year-old boy were both treated for minor injuries.
The incident happened when a homemade trailer towed by a 26-year-old man broke loose. Police say the trailer was not attached properly.
The man has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm and driving a motor vehicle while disqualified.
