As a result of a continuing crackdown on drivers who flaunt the posted speed limits within the community of Greater Sudbury, uniform officers had interaction with yet another speeder.

At 7:40 p.m., on the June 18, while conducting radar on the Kingsway, a uniform patrol officer of the Greater Sudbury Police Service clocked a motorcycle travelling at 127 kilometres per hour in a 60 kilometre zone.

A 21-year old male from Sudbury has been charged with performing a stunt (speeding). As a result, the driver had his licence seized and his motorcycle impounded for a period of seven days.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service would like to remind the public of the folly of travelling at speeds twice the speed limit. The public is reminded that not only are they endangering their own personal safety, but also the safety of other citizens.
