In the span of four hours on the evening of June 23, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service investigated  three nuisance bear complaints.

In one incident, a bear was walking behind Speedy Muffler on the Kingsway, toward the Apollo Restaurant.

Officers also attended the area of Montrose and Grandview to investigate two bear sightings. The animal was seen walking through backyards and appeared to have an injured rear leg.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is reminding the public to call the police and not to approach these animals. It is important that garbage is properly sealed and not left out to attract bears into residential and commercial areas.
