Officers of the Traffic Management Unit initiated RIDE spot checks throughout the city over the weekend, resulting in eight 12-hour suspensions and two impaired driving charges in Greater Sudbury.

Police checked 725 vehicles over the weekend, and 42 were given roadside tests. Six charges contrary to the Highway Traffic Act were also laid, including three liquor violations and two novice drivers charged with having a blood alcohol level above zero.
