With the warmer temperatures and rain which will be occurring in the Sudbury Area,  Greater Sudbury Police, Ontario Provincial Police and the STOP officer patrol officers are cautioning snowmobile operators to stay off area lakes.  The warmer temperatures and rain will affect ice conditions throughout the Sudbury area.  Ministry of Natural resources releases indicate that there has been less than six inches of good ice on smaller lakes and larger lakes still have open water in some places.

Sudbury trails have also deteriorated as well and until such time as temperatures return to seasonal values the public is requested to stay off of them, said a news release.

Mild temperatures and rain may cause flooding, washouts and bare or icy trail surfaces.
