Silver coins, antique Canadian currency taken in break-and-enter

Police say the value of what was stolen could be as much as $50K

Silver coins, antique Canadian currency and Canadian currency worth between $40,000 and $50,000 were taken in a break-and-enter in Espanola sometime between Sept. 18 and 21.

The Manitoulin OPP responded to the break-and-enter at a property on Avery Drive in Espanola at 11:05 a.m. Sept. 21.

Officers are conducting an investigation of this incident, which occurred sometime between Sept. 18 and Sept. 21.

The stolen property includes:

  • Canadian currency
  • Many different pieces of antique Canadian currency
  • Silver coins

The value of items stolen is estimated to be between $40,000 and $50,000.

Manitoulin OPP is requesting that anyone with information about this break and enter call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
