Snowmobile and train collide in Azilda

Sudbury Vide news - Snowmobile and train collide in Azilda A snowmobile collided with a train near Montee Principale in Azilda Sunday afternoon around 3 p.m. after a 65-year-old male tried to cross the railroad tracks on his snowmobile.

His sled got caught on the tracks and he was trying to remove it as a train was approaching. The train hit the snowmobile and the man was then thrown to the ground.

He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for injuries to his arm and was released.. The snowmobile was destroyed in the accident and the train suffered little damage.

The road was closed for about two hours to allow police to investigate and a replacement crew for the train. No charges have been laid.
