Teenagers try to mug man at mall

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man are facing multiple charges after they allegedly robbed a man at the New Sudbury Shopping Centre April 26 at around 5:30 p.m.

The suspects approached the victim, and demanded his wallet and watch. One of the suspects brandished a knife, and the other a steel pipe.

The suspects did not manage to obtain the victim's property, and walked away. The victim did not receive any injuries during the incident.

Based on a description by the victim, Greater Sudbury Police quickly located the 16-year-old suspect, and arrested him.

He was charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking and numerous counts of breach of probation.

Police later found the 19-year-old suspect and arrested him. He was charged with robbery, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a dangerous weapon, and numerous counts of breach of probation.
