Three teens were on an all-terrain vehicle when it struck a pickup truck. They weren't wearing helmets.

At about 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 27, a Yamaha Rhino all-terrain vehicle (ATV) sped through a stop sign at the intersection of St. Jacques and Pharand Streets in Hanmer at a "high rate of speed," stated Sudbury Greater police in a release.

The ATV struck a northbound Ford pickup truck.

The riders of the ATV were ejected during the collision, and were transported to St. Joseph's Health centre and later released. The three occupants of the truck were unharmed.

The 14-year-old driver of the ATV has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and was released on a promise to appear.

ATVs are not allowed to operate on public roadways, and operators can face several charges if they are found driving on roads or highways.
